Tom Johnson

A native of Fair Oaks, CA, Johnson had an extensive professional golf career that included a full season on the PGA Tour in 2007 as well as four seasons on the Nationwide Tour (Web.com Tour).  Most recently he competed on the Asian Tour (2016) where he finished 92nd on the Order of Merit.  As an amateur golfer, he competed in eight USGA events and was twice an All-American at Northwestern University, where he majored in Communication Studies.  

Johnson joined the teaching staff at Golden Gate Park Golf Course this past Spring.

In his time away from competitive golf, Johnson coached varsity golf at Trinity High School before becoming the Assistant Men’s Golf Coach at University California Davis (2015-2016).  

“I enjoy teaching a wide variety of players and I pride myself on being able to communicate well with everyone.  Golf is a tough game, so my aim is to make it as easy as possible.  Everyone is different, so I teach according to each person’s ability.”
